.: Vertical Marathon---C(can)MI..... hi five! :.

this morning, there was quite a rush trying to contact many people to find out about the correct reporting time for vertical marathon..... eventually decided to meet at 11.45am at tanjong pagar mrt... sorry peeps i was slightly late... was already rushing like mad...heehee....sorry..... on our way to Temasek Tower--the site of the race, we saw yc and yushan..... so sad..... their team can't run...... heard many teams who signed up got rejected..... we must have been real lucky to have been accepted... reached Temasek Tower..... quite a scare initially... saw tanned guys and girls with muscles..... strong build..... sporty outfit...... look at us..... haha..... look up at the tower... eh..... haha.. it looks so so so so tall..... how are we ever going to make our way up there? then heard that there were people who completed the entire race in 8 min??? ok......those were guys...... but 8 min is still.....wow! as we could only register at 1pm, we sat around first. 1pm, we went to register... the person at the counter asked," what's ur group name?". we were laughing when we said,"CMI"..haha..... nah..... it's Can Make It...yeah... teams are dispatched at 2 min intervals... our grp was scheduled at 2.10pm.. there was still abt one hour to go..... sat ard to chat..... then when the time drew near, we started stretching... jo ws and me went to the place ard tanjong pagar mrt station to run as warmups. then went back to the tower. stretched.... and soon..... too soon...... the time came for our group to be at the starting line... when the person at the starting line heard that our group name was CMI, she burst out laughing..... and so did the next team queueing behind us...... haha..... 5,4,3,2,1, and off we went... the guys led the way... kept pace with them for abt the first 10 storeys? then we gals started lagging... the guys waited after each storey. at one pt in time, i continued first, cos i couldn't stop...... then jo told me to continue on my own up the stairs first... i continued for one flight of stairs, then i looked down, while jo looked up to see where i was... i shook my head, indicating i had to rest a min. jo waved his hand, asking me to continue so as not to lose momentum. (i shook my head, he waved his hand)x a few times.. haha.. even the person stationed at that staircase was laughing at our exchange..haha...... eventually, jo went up himself first..... ws climbed and waited at 5 storey intervals... i made my way up slowly while jas was with jy... i can't stop, if i stopped for long, i couldn't continue... ard the 35th storey, ws climbed the rest of the stairs with me till the 50th storey. Thanks ws! at the 50th storey, we waited for jy and jas before finishing the race with them up the 51th storey..... met up with jo on the rooftop..... the scenery was simply breathtaking!!! so very nice...... in fact, i felt very nice aft climbing the 51 storeys.. it was fun! haha..... it felt much faster than i had expected...... when we looked up at the tower from the ground floor aft the race, i still couldn't believe that i had climbed the stairs all the way from the ground floor to the rooftop.... CMI, we made it! yeah :) went to collect the goodie bag, then snapped a grp photo and a photo of the vertical marathon board using jas's phone..... then went to maxwell market for snacks... ate han ji peng... da bao han ji peng and char siew pao back for my family..... left the place at ard 5... reached home.. my relatives had already arrived.. had tuan2 yuan2 fan4. it was fun.. haha...
vertical marathon had been both a physical and mental test........ but it had certainly been fun!!! yeah!!! :)
