preparations started on tue afternoon... went to set up poster at the booth at science centre after school. ms's, liming's and my booth are all along the same column. enter, turn left, go down three rows, that's mine, go down a few more rows, ms's, all to the end, liming's...haha.. got a shock... thought the board would be of furry material, so we just had to have a side of the velcro strip. who would have guessed that it was actually a blank white board, meaning that u needed both sides of the velcro strip to mount your poster onto the board. luckily earlier on, i had bought 8 velcro strip from popular... and each packet came with two sides.. liming was not so fortunate, she did not have sufficient velcro of both sides... she had to run to popular to get... when she came back, helped mount her poster first, after which, she came over to help mount mine. had to literally climb onto the table top to mount the poster..... heehee... left the place at ard 4.30. booth: BS08.
next day, wednesday, was walking to marsiling mrt in court shoes when 3/4 of the sole of my right shoe just came off like that! couldn't walk anymore... called my mum for emergency help. waited there for my parents to come. luckily father had already reached home, and could fetch me to science centre. tried my mum's shoes.. real tight..... my entire feet were hurting terribly after walking 5 steps? yes..... on the journey to sci centre, was frantically thinking of who to borrow court shoes from. ended up calling jane's mum to borrow jane's shoes. thanks jane! reached sci centre, registered, rushed to set up my booth, then waited for judges. my immediate neighbour was a rgs gal. opp neighbours were 2 hci high sch boys and a rjc gal. the first judge came when i went over to liming's booth. he came back soon after. he was very nice, friendly. second judge also came when i went over to liming's booth..... he came back when i was having lunch... eh. haha.. well, he looked very sian.... wan't that friendly. third judge only came at 5 plus!!! was very bored liao..... entire day nothing to do at all except wait wait wait. hmm... judging eh..... yah...... left at 5 plus after the last judge. went to buy court shoes.
today, very tired..... very bored too..... cos pple usually didn't stop at our booths. lyn hf v ken came. thank! lyn ah, naughty gal. called me say last min not coming. then when i went over to liming's booth, i saw the 4 of them there! naughty gal haha..... thanks for coming! my family came too! yeah... haha...... well, didn't get anything, but it's ok lah..... liming got bronze..... congrats!!!
come to think of it..... sometimes i really dun understand the twists and turns of life..... do u believe in fate? p3, i had this best friend. however, somewhere down the year, she started treating me very badly, ostracising me, calling me names, doing all sorts of things even a normal friend would not do. best friends turned sorta enemies. last talk with her was in p3. well, i knew it was her. ssef, her booth was less than a metre away from mine, but as expected, we didtn' talk, didn't even acknowledge each other. then today, before leaving, she came over. passed me a letter. in the letter, she apologised for her childishess and immaturity then in p3, expressed regret at not having had a chance for us to patch us, and asked for forgiveness. I was actually stunned momentarily. I went over to her, and asked for her contact. do u call this fate? 9 years..... yes.. more than half of my life so far... i still don't believe it..... yes, 9-years-ago-broken friendship mended, in a second.
