.: ~elaboration on imcb~flu virus~ :.

here goes a slight elaboration on what happened the last 2 days of my attachment... thursday, the 2nd day, also the 2nd last day, western blot... had a hard time trying to pick up and transfer the gel without breaking it...well eventually it did break... at one of the steps when we were transferring the gel, it actually fell off the membrane...and landed on my gloves... cos it was transparent, we didn't know where it went... then i realised it was on my hands... haha... then i had to carefully manouveure my hands to get the gel back onto the membrane... had lunch with tj vj rj pple.. was sitting with two vj and one rj students. talked abt j1 life... oh yah... realised they were in biomed too... their schools had this bio soc... yah... wow... just knew that other schools send j1s, but not hc...hmm.... asked abt the piano ensemble in their school... if there was such a cca in hc, u can be sure u can find me there... haha... heard that once, during one of the performances, one item was as such: a guy went up to the piano, opened it, sat down, started looking at his watch. pple started chatting... he continued looking at his watch... didn't play the piano... after abt eh.. dun noe how long, he stood up, closed the piano, walked away... ??? the chatter of the audience was supposed to be the music... the best part? that guy didn't know how to play the piano at all... haha... aft lunch, walked all the way back to imcb... was all sweaty when we donned our coats and gloves... haha... continued on the blotting... later on, with the help of the researcher Wai Fook, we transferred the gel onto plastic sheets to be exposed for developing so as to see the resulting xray film... went to the dark room again... yup.. was kinda tired already... aft the x-ray film came out, went home... tired tired....
last day... which was friday... did staining of cells... observed the cells under the microscope... results weren't exactly what we had hoped.. most prob due to poor experimental techiniques.. haha... aft that, cleared up the lab... then went for lunch with the tj vj rj hci high sch and andersen sec sch students. went to city hall... initially, went to delifrance, no space... then long john's, also no space.. then went to cafe cartel... guesed what. we had already pulled tables together, sat down, all 12 of us, collated our money for set lunches each $9.50, when the waitress happily came over to inform us that sadly, they had run out of the set lunches... so we tried looking for another other dish which we could get for the same amt. we found one! but as soon found out, it was just an appetizer... haha... ended up eating at the food court. haha... went home aft lunch. super tired...
sat--reached sch at eight, ran with jas and jeff.. then went for cca... then went for lunch with jas and jo.. then went for biomed.. yeah.. aft biomed.. mugged a little at the class bench with jas and jeff before returining home... felt good to step into sch again! haha...
sun--oops... don't know what happened, but i think i clipped my nail too in... shi1 shou3... the toe bled... painful... i go weak at the sight of blood.... eee.... had a hard time pulling the remainder of my nail out before attempting to clean the wound.. painful...
mon--string performed at mandarin hotel... started first perf session at 8 plus... ended at 10 plus!!! fortunately my parents came to fetch me... heehee... my toe was feeling worse after having worn court shoes for the entire night....oops.. haha
tue--many pple are falling ill..esp to the flu virus... pls take care everyone!!! drink more water, don't get too stressed out... have sufficient rest! take care everyone! hee... will be having cca everyday this week... syf next wed... wow.... sounds real soon... kinda scared.... oh yah! string concert 22 May, same day as the Big Walk... pls come support!!! :)
