.: ~first day of imcb attachment~ :.

sigh ... i hate jams!!! left my house at around 7.20am... my father was fetching me to imcb... supposed to report at 8.30am. thought i would be early, if not, just on time... who would have guessed that the jam could be sooooo sooo soooooo bad... started from bukit panjang area, the part after we passed ten mile junction, and worsened throughout the journey, reaching its peak around the area near assumption english school. by that time, we were literally crawling. we could stay in the same position for goodness knows how long... was real fed up... the traffic jam continued all the way till hillview area, near the fire station...realised that in addition to the road works which were causing the jam, a car had broken down in the middle of the road along hume ave......... sigh... was really very fed up...... real frustrated... just felt like stomping out of the van and walking all the way to biopolis...... real irritated..... in the end, i was late... for about 10 min.... when i could be 10 min early instead.... sigh...
the atmosphere at imcb is nice..... my attachment was at proteos building of imcb... security was tight..... needed passes to get around the place. had a briefing on safety, then a short lecuture on bone cells, particularly osteoblasts. after that, we went to the labs. oh yah...... i am the only j2 there, the only student from hc..... kinda lonely.. haha...... the oldest there.... felt funny.....
wore a lab coat!!! felt very nice :) did electrophoresis. then we went for lunch. went for lunch with 3 tjc students (amelia, gabriel, joshua). went to the food court at matrix for lunch. food there quite ex... though the ambience was nice... chatted with the tjc students. gave them a brief introduction to jc1 life. talked abt pw and the spa system with them. haha... oh yah... were still discussing politics, communism and what not.. haha... aft lunch, went back to the labs. the toilet is quite nice..... haha... but the tap a bit funny. it's an auto system. but when i put my hand under the tap, no water flows. when i take my hand away, however, water starts flowing. funny..... the lab is quite nice. there is a work space to put your stuff. the only troublesome thing is that whenever u want to leave the lab, be it to the toilet or just next door to ur workspace, u must take off ur lab coat and gloves..... aft lunch, did transfering of gel. oops, the gel broke... haha... hope it will still turn out fine. looked at some osteoblasts under a microscope (better than the usual lab microscope, but not electron microscope). ard 5, started cell splitting. all the way till 6. tired...... hee.... must update me on what happened in sch!
